Question Paper Submission Guidelines

To maintain confidentiality, uniformity, and academic standards, Ganga Global Institute of Management Studies (GGIMS), Begusarai has established structured guidelines for the preparation and submission of question papers for MBA, MCA, BCA, and BBA programmes.

All faculty members are required to strictly adhere to these guidelines.

Objectives

  • Ensure standardization of question paper format

  • Maintain confidentiality and security

  • Align question papers with syllabus and Course Outcomes (COs)

  • Promote outcome-based education (OBE)

  • Ensure compliance with university norms (AKU, Patna)

Responsibility of Faculty

The concerned subject faculty shall:

  • Prepare question papers as per approved syllabus

  • Ensure balanced coverage of all units

  • Follow university-prescribed format

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Submit within the stipulated deadline

Question Paper Format Guidelines

General Instructions

  • Question paper must clearly mention:

    • Programme (MBA / MCA / BCA / BBA)

    • Semester

    • Subject Name & Code

    • Maximum Marks

    • Time Duration

  • Clear instructions must be provided to students

  • Section-wise division must be mentioned

Pattern (Indicative – As per AKU Norms)

Section A – Short Answer Questions

  • Objective / Very short answer

  • Compulsory questions

Section B – Descriptive Questions

  • Attempt any ____ out of ____

  • Unit-wise coverage

Section C – Long Answer / Analytical Questions

  • Case Study (for MBA & BBA)

  • Problem Solving / Programming (for MCA & BCA)

(Note: Final pattern shall strictly follow University guidelines.)

Coverage & Weightage

  • Questions must cover all units proportionately.

  • Easy, Moderate, and Difficult level questions must be balanced.

  • Question paper must test:

    • Conceptual understanding

    • Analytical skills

    • Application ability

    • Practical knowledge (where applicable)

Course Outcome (CO) Mapping

Faculty must:

  • Map each question with relevant CO

  • Ensure alignment with Programme Outcomes (POs)

  • Maintain CO–PO mapping record for academic audit

Confidentiality & Security

  • Question papers must be kept strictly confidential.

  • Soft copies must be password protected.

  • Question papers must not be shared via unauthorized platforms.

  • Printing and duplication shall be done only through authorized personnel.

Violation of confidentiality shall invite disciplinary action.

Submission Process

  • Question papers must be submitted to HOD in sealed envelope / secure digital format.

  • Submission must be completed within the deadline prescribed by the Examination Cell.

  • Faculty must retain a copy for record.

Moderation Process

  • Question papers may undergo moderation by:

    • Head of Department

    • Examination Committee

    • Academic Committee

  • Necessary corrections or modifications must be incorporated before final approval.

Timeline

  • Internal Test Question Papers – At least 7 days before examination

  • End Semester Question Papers – As per Examination Cell schedule

Late submission may affect examination scheduling and will be recorded.

Academic Integrity

  • Questions must be original.

  • Direct copying from previous papers or internet sources must be avoided.

  • Proper modification and academic relevance must be ensured.

Documentation

Faculty must maintain:

  • Question paper copy

  • CO mapping sheet

  • Blueprint of question paper

  • Moderation record

Review & Amendment

These guidelines shall be reviewed periodically by:

  • Examination Cell

  • Academic Committee

  • IQAC

Revisions shall be approved by the Principal.
